Bring your Instrument – Come to Play
Enjoy the Music and New Friends
If you’ve ever enjoyed playing an instrument, performing music in a 40-50 piece band, an ensemble of friends, you’ll want to consider this invitation to find the old instrument in your closet, clean it off, and join us, the Maynard Community Band (MCB). Rekindle that old enjoyment.
The band has been performing FREE concerts to the local towns’ people every Wednesday from mid June into September for many years. Over the recent winter months, the group has been rehearsing and preparing for our 2019 Summer Concert Series. If interested, we cordially invite you to join us in rehearsal on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:45 pm the Fowler Middle School, 3 Tiger Drive, off of Route 117 (Great Road) in Maynard, MA.
At MCB you’ll play without audition in a relaxed setting without criticism. You do not need to feel that you have a high degree of expertise on your instrument, just your instrument and the ability to read music. We especially need players on Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Baritone TC and Trumpet. Here’s your opportunity to join other like-minded men and women, young and old, who find pleasure in making music and presenting it to others during our summer concert season.
MCB, a local volunteer organization established in 1947, entering its’ 72nd year, with regional membership and a long and proud musical history is actively seeking musicians. We are a fellowship of avocational musicians who enjoy ensemble playing as well as the social interaction and friendship that comes with participation in a group such as this. For those interested in furthering an existing musical path, we have several experienced players who perform and lead other area combos and bands, and who actively mine the talents of MCB players for other musical venues.
Contact Michael , our conductor, at 508-485-3171 or email at MCBmusic143@gmail.com for more information. We are a very welcoming group, play a wide variety of both traditional and contemporary music and would love to have some additional members in our ensemble.
